Medical Certificates

Medical and x-ray certificates are required for all applicants wishing to stay in New Zealand for more than one year, unless those certificates have been provided within the two years before the new application. This includes those who are extending their existing stay beyond the period of one year.

Applicants who wish to stay for more than six months and who are applying from countries which are regarded as having a medium to high incidence of tuberculosis (TB) require a Temporary Entry Chest X-ray certificate.

Applications for residence require Medical and x-ray certificates for the principal applicant, as well as for the partner/spouse and all dependent children.


Police Certificates

Are required for any stay in excess of two years.


Passport Validity

Applicants applying for temporary visas or permits must hold a passport valid for a period of at least three months beyond the expected departure date.
